Diana Anderson - Owner
Diana has been a dance instructor and choreographer for the past 10 years. She began dancing at a young age where she instantly found her love for dance. In High School she was a member of the Dance Company and Drill Team where she served as Drill Mistress. She spent time training with a “Dancing with the Stars” choreographer where she developed her passion to become a teacher. In 2011 she accomplished her dream by opening Devotion Dance Academy. It is her passion to work with children and see their talents develop. Her students have won countless awards from Overall High Points to Best Choreography at National Competitions. Diana is a former Miss Spanish Fork and loves to see her students participate and succeed in their local pageants because of the talents that they have developed.
Segi Worthen - Director/Hip Hop Instructor
Segi started dancing and performing at the age 5. She is trained in hip-hop and Polynesian dancing. In high school she competed in hip hop competitions throughout Utah and Las Vegas. In college she worked for a hip hop based studio, as a hip hop instructor. She danced and performed with the Dixie College Dance Club and Dixie College Polynesian Club. After college she moved to Spanish Fork and started teaching adult and children’s hip hop classes. She took a long break from teaching to focus on her growing family. She is excited to be back to teach what she loves and do what she does best again. As an instructor for Devotion Dance Academy she has brought great diversity in her awesome routines, winning high point awards and Best Choreography!
Makayla Wilson - Company Director/Contemporary Instructor
Makayla Wilson has been dancing since the age of three. She has trained in many different styles including: jazz, contemporary, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. She was on the Maple Mountain High School Dance Company and Drill Team. She served as assistant Drill Mistress her junior year followed by President/Head Drill Mistress her senior year. Makayla was named as a top 5 Basic Dance Training Top Corp Finalist and Top 3 dancer at Go For It dance camp. She has had the opportunity to perform at Disneyland, Disneyworld, and Universal Studios as well as take classes at The Edge dance studio in Los Angeles. Dancing is her passion and teaching/choreography are what she loves most. Makayla loves teaching at Devotion and finds so much joy in seeing her students grow and improve. Her accomplishments include High Point and Overall Team Awards!
Hannah Hurd - Ballet Instructor
Hannah Hurd recently earned a BFA in Ballet Teaching and Choreography at the University of Utah. She began dancing at the age of seven at a local studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she developed her love for dance. She wanted to further pursue ballet, so she began training with instructors at Ballet Society of Colorado Springs. In her early teens, Hannah moved to Mesa, Arizona and started dancing for a pre-professional company, Ballet Etudes. As Hannah advanced in Ballet Etudes throughout the years, she performed many different corps and soloist roles in The Nutcracker, Cinderella, Coppélia, Giselle, Peter Pan and Peter and the Wolf. At the age of 16, Hannah and other members of her company got the opportunity to perform with the Phoenix Symphony for a New Year's Eve Gala. Hannah has been a guest soloist for Mountain West Ballet productions in Sandy, Utah where she performed major roles in Cinderella, Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty. Hannah received her college training from former Ballet West dancer and coach Maureen Laird, renowned dance critic and coach Regina Zarhina, Calvin Kitten of The Joffrey Ballet and other artists. Along with her college ballet education, Hannah also performed corps and soloist roles in Les Sylphides and Paquita and choreographed many works for the University of Utah Ballet Showcase performances. She has enjoyed being a member of the Utah Dance Judges Association since 2013. Hannah is an ABT® Certified Teacher, who has successfully completed the ABT® Teacher Training Intensive in Pre-Primary through Level 3 of the ABT® National Training Curriculum. Hannah continues to pursue dance education and professional training opportunities in staging repertoire, choreography, judging, and teaching.
Josh Penrod - Fitness Instructor
Josh is a Certified Fitness Professional, Performance Enhancement Specialist and Functional Movement Specialist. He is accredited through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He practices his craft at Zuwire Fitness in Salem where he manages and operates the club as Fitness Director. His skill and passion lies in recognizing fitness potential in his clients and then helping them to achieve it. He is supported by his wife Angela and two children, Savannah and Lincoln who teach him daily what it means to live and love.
Lexi Hansen - Technique Instructor
Lexi is an established Dancer, Choreographer, and Competition Judge. She started dancing at the age of 3 years old! She quickly fell in love with all styles of dance, and worked to excel at a young age. She has trained at studios all across Utah, and has had the opportunity to train and work with some of dance industry's best teachers and choreographers. Lexi has had the opportunity to preform all over Utah, California, and Nevada . She is a highly sought out competition judge in which she has been able to work all over Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Lexi has an extensive 16 years teaching experience as she has taught all over Utah, including Masterclasses in and out of the state. As a choreographer, her dancers have won numerous first place and high point awards! She is yet to have a soloist not take first place! Lexi enjoys staying current and fresh on what is happening in the dance world, and to do so she currently continues to take class and preform on stage! Lexi is married to her sweet husband Brandon, and together they have a daughter, Peyton and a son, Korbin. Dancing allows us to be creative, expressive, vulnerable, and amazing! I love dance more than words can say and I love being able to help and inspire dancers of all ages to reach their highest potential!
Marki Hansen - Instructor
Marki Hansen, from Salem, Utah, first became acquainted with dance at just two years old. In her youth she developed skills in all genres of competitive dance and gymnastics. When in High School, she lived up her days as a Cheerleader, Drill Team and Dance Company member obtaining both Region and State awards in those years. She adores sharing her choreography and has had multiple opportunities to organize routines for teams and individuals. In 2013 - 2014 she participated as a member of the Dixie State University Dance Team. Since her return from an eighteen month church mission in Washington State, she has been working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science at Utah Valley University. She is ecstatic for the opportunity she has, as a dance instructor, to continue being involved in what she has always loved! Her main goal as a teacher is to help her students obtain confidence through challenging both creativity and technique.
