Diana has been a dance instructor and choreographer for the past 10 years. She began dancing at a young age where she instantly found her love for dance. In High School she was a member of the Dance Company and Drill Team where she served as Drill Mistress. She spent time training with a “Dancing with the Stars” choreographer where she developed her passion to become a teacher. In 2011 she accomplished her dream by opening Devotion Dance Academy. It is her passion to work with children and see their talents develop. Her students have won countless awards from Overall High Points to Best Choreography at National Competitions. Diana is a former Miss Spanish Fork and loves to see her students participate and succeed in their local pageants because of the talents that they have developed.
Director/Hip Hop Instructor
Segi started dancing and performing at the age 5. She is trained in hip-hop and Polynesian dancing. In high school she competed in hip hop competitions throughout Utah and Las Vegas. In college she worked for a hip hop based studio, as a hip hop instructor. She danced and performed with the Dixie College Dance Club and Dixie College Polynesian Club. After college she moved to Spanish Fork and started teaching adult and children’s hip hop classes. She took a long break from teaching to focus on her growing family. She is excited to be back to teach what she loves and do what she does best again. As an instructor for Devotion Dance Academy she has brought great diversity in her awesome routines, winning high point awards and Best Choreography!
Company Director/Contemporary Instructor
Makayla Wilson has been dancing since the age of three. She has trained in many different styles including: jazz, contemporary, ballet, lyrical, and hip hop. She was on the Maple Mountain High School Dance Company and Drill Team. She served as assistant Drill Mistress her junior year followed by President/Head Drill Mistress her senior year. Makayla was named as a top 5 Basic Dance Training Top Corp Finalist and Top 3 dancer at Go For It dance camp. She has had the opportunity to perform at Disneyland, Disneyworld, and Universal Studios as well as take classes at The Edge dance studio in Los Angeles. Dancing is her passion and teaching/choreography are what she loves most. Makayla loves teaching at Devotion and finds so much joy in seeing her students grow and improve. Her accomplishments include High Point and Overall Team Awards!
Recital Team Director
Taylor has always loved to dance ever since she began at the age of three. She began competing at the age of twelve. Her primary focus in dance has been lyrical, jazz, and contemporary. In high school she was a member of the Spanish Fork Drill Team where she had the opportunity to be a team captain and choreograph for her team. Drill team provided her with many opportunities including traveling to California where she was able to perform and take classes at the Edge Performing Arts Center in LA. She was also a member of the All-State Drill Team her senior year. Taylor is currently attending Brigham Young University where she is on full academic tuition scholarship and continues to take the dance classes BYU has to offer. Taylor will be serving an LDS mission in Tucson, Arizona from 2014-2016.
Marki Hansen, from Salem, Utah, first became acquainted with dance at just two years old. In her youth she developed skills in all genres of competitive dance and gymnastics. When in High School, she lived up her days as a Cheerleader, Drill Team and Dance Company member obtaining both Region and State awards in those years. She adores sharing her choreography and has had multiple opportunities to organize routines for teams and individuals. In 2013 – 2014 she participated as a member of the Dixie State University Dance Team. Since her return from an eighteen month church mission in Washington State, she has been working towards her Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science at Utah Valley University. She is ecstatic for the opportunity she has, as a dance instructor, to continue being involved in what she has always loved! Her main goal as a teacher is to help her students obtain confidence through challenging both creativity and technique.
Began her dance training at the age of three from numerous studios. She also trained in the Royal Academy of Dance where she received high merits and distinction in each level from Pre-Primary through Advanced Two. At age fourteen Ginger began her training at Classical Ballet Academy where she was able to work with many incredible teachers and choreographers including Attila Ficzere, Victor Plotnikov, and Romi Beppu. At Classical Ballet Academy she danced the role of Gretel in Hansel and Gretel in 2007 and 2008 as well as Snow Queen, Spanish, and Chinese in the Nutcracker.
Ginger received her BFA in Ballet with emphases in Performance, Teaching, and Character Dance from the University of Utah in 2013. During her time at the University of Utah she was a member of Utah Ballet and Character Dance Ensemble, which provided her with the incredible experience of working with world renowned choreographers as well as training and performing in San José, Costa Rica; Kiev, Ukraine; and Seoul, Korea while representing the Ballet Department. She performed and choreographed in most of the student concerts for both the Ballet and Modern departments and was awarded departmental scholarships for each semester at the University.
After Graduating, Ginger traveled the world dancing for Disney Cruise Lines on the Disney Wonder. She performed various roles including the Lion King Pas De Deux dancer, a Cinderella Waltz dancer, an Aladdin Harem dancer, a Ribbon dancer for Pocahontas, and a Spanish Web dancer as one of Tarzan’s monkeys.
As Miss Spanish Fork 2009, Ginger promoted and raised money for Art Programs in local schools with her outreach program, Excelling with the Fine Arts. She continues to stay involved in the community by promoting, choreographing, and performing in local concerts, festivals, and musicals. She is also an Instructor at Ballet West Academy.
